Elbow Fracture

Description

An elbow fracture is usually a break in the radial head (radius bone in elbow), although it may occur in different elbow sites such as the olecranon or capitellum.  This fracture is usually caused by a fall  or trauma.  Person may have to undergo surgery in order to reduce the fracture.

Symptoms

  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Decreased range of motion
  • Weakness

What to expect from therapy

A therapist will evaluate your pain, range of motion, muscle strength, sensation and ability to perform activities of daily living. Treatments may include the use of therapeutic modalities, hands on therapy techniques, and therapeutic exercises.
